‘Perambulation’ is an online research platform, at the intersection between contemporary art, theory and the emergence of global histories, born out of a preoccupation with the notion of ‘periphery’ that often seeks to address the global as a series of comparative approaches still embedded in the traditional binary distinction between Western narratives of modernity and the ‘other’.

The platform focuses on the outer physical borders of European modernity: Eastern Mediterranean countries, Syria, Georgia, Iraq, Russia and the Caucasus, and it aims to publish commissioned texts by artists, curators and cultural practitioners working across interdisciplinary lines.
